Dharamshala, April 23, 2018: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, met Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Dr.Harsh Vardhan in New Delhi on Monday and urged him for sanctioning two major projects prepared by Himachal Pradesh Government to save its valuable natural resources in view of the climate change. This was disclosed in a press release issued here.
Union Minister assured the Chief Minister that Centre will full support to the efforts of Himachal Pradesh Government in maintaining forest and ecological balance and efforts will be made to provide technical and financial clearance for the projects submitted to the Centre by the State Government for this purpose after their detailed study.
Thakur told Union Minister , “State Environment, Science & Technology department had submitted two projects of estimated cost of Rs. 1644.32 crore to the Central Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change through National Agriculture & Rural Bank (NABARD). Among them, an ambitious project of Rs. 1125.32 crore was water conservation and community management of natural water resources and the second one of Rs. 492 crore was on climate based forest management.”
